Concert Band: Summer 2026

Thursday July 2
6:30 pm call for 7:00 pm outdoor concert (part of the Wayland COA Summer Concert Series)
Rehearsal & Concert Location:
Wayland COA/Community Center
8 Andrew Ave., Wayland, MA
Registration is through SVNHM, NOT LS Adult Ed (they don’t have a summer program).
Registration fee is $100 for all 6 sessions or $20 per session drop-in (cash or check only).

We will be playing 9 or 10 pieces for our outdoor concert on July 2nd, to be chosen from the following (most are fairly easy):
- Sousa’s Golden Jubilee March (simplified; original played in Fall 2023)
- Cohan Cavalcade (revised; original played in summers 2016 & 2025)
- Selections from the Music Man (spring 2009, fall 2015, spring 2017)
- Yankee Doodle/Chester (Spring 2011; summers 2011, 12, 13, 14, 15)
- Louis Armstrong (spring 2026)
- Polka Party (spring 2026)
- Shenandoah (Spring 2008; summer 2023)
- Amazing Grace (Fall 2013; several summers)
- Barnum & Bailey’s Favorite (Spring 2014; summer 2018)
- Take Me Out to the Ball Game (permanent folder; many summers)
- ”America the Beautiful” from American Folk Song Celebration (summers 2024 & 2025)
- Gershwin Classics
Music is available in the same dropbox for your instrument where you accessed other SV music. Any questions or problems, please email Diane.
What to bring to all rehearsals:
- Your music stand
- Your instrument
- Your music
- You pencil
- Your love of making music!
- Brass and other instruments that drip water: please bring a rag or something to empty onto.
Other details:
Restroom access: Yes!
Food: We will be having a short time after rehearsal for snacks and social time. Each section will have a week assigned for people to bring snacks if they would like to. More info to come!
Arrival: You may arrive any time after 6:20 pm and hang out to chat at the end of rehearsal.
Cleanup: If you are able, please help us put away chairs after rehearsal.
Zoom: We are NOT Zooming rehearsals during the summer.
